The Sooner State’s economy is getting an important boost from their technology sector. In fact, the information tech sector makes up more than $6.5 billion of the state’s GDP. This is possible in part by the roughly eight percent of Oklahoma’s workforce made up of high-tech occupations. The impact of technology in Oklahoma can be seen through the importance of data and information services in the state, with more than 70 global companies relying on data centers in the state, including major technology companies such as Google, HP, and IBM.
